For our 8th Season we bring you eight stories that challenge our way of relating to our fellow man. What is at the core of oppression? What happens when we lack the empathy to truly connect? Through seminal works by Nobel Laureates, Pulitzer Prize nominees, Tony winners, political activists, and masters of the theatrical canon, we are initiating a deep conversation about what it means to be human, and how these works reflect the trials and tribulations we experience in today's society.
Our 8th Season includes Main Stage productions of: CLOUD 9 by classic feminist playwright Caryl Churchill – running June 30-July 16, 2017 at the Access Theater; JACK GOES BOATING, a NY Times Critics Pick by Bob Glaudini, running in November 4-19, 2017 at the Paradise Factory; and our season will conclude with a triple-header: THE PEOPLE VS ANTIGONE, a world premiere adaptation by Brandon Walker, running in rep with two searing one-person shows: I AM MY OWN WIFE, the Tony Award winning play by Doug Wright and MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE by Katharine Viner and Alan Rickman from the writings of Rachel Corrie.
Our TSP Unplugged Series gives patrons an exciting and exclusive look behind the scenes at The Seeing Place, and includes an opportunity to participate with our artists in exploring three important texts of our time: OUR COUNTRY’S GOOD by Timberlake Wertenbaker, originally performed at The Royal Court Theatre in London in 1988 to critical acclaim; THE HAIRY APE by Nobel Prize winning playwright Eugene O’Neill; and SPIN CYCLE, a world premiere by NYC playwright and lyricist, Cornelia Ravenal.
We’re very proud to announce that 4 of 8 plays we're presenting this season were written by female playwrights.
Even though these seven plays span a hundred years and countless generations of storytelling, the subjects broached and lessons learned are achingly relevant today. We've chosen these plays to open up a dialogue with our audience about the world around us. How can we build on what we've learned from the people who've come before us?
We sure hope you'll join us for our landmark 8th Season and help us create a new conversation to connect with your fellow man. Perhaps, as Gandhi said, we together can be the change we wish to see in the world.

Caryl Churchill's revolutionary masterwork is an audacious and playful take on sexual politics, which resonates today as much as it's startling 1979 debut in its exploration of power and perception. Drawing a line between Colonialism and Feminism, this modern classic bends time, gender, and genre and embraces the confusion and complication of identity: What forces define who we are—and at what cost?
