The Seeing Place Celebrates 5 Critically Acclaimed Years!

Welcome to Season 5!

In Season 5 we brought you stories that were touched by loss, a loss that threatens the very fabric of the lives of those involved. Struggling with grief and yearning for compassion, the characters in these plays fight to find the deeper meaning of each tragedy and, in doing so, build a bridge to a better and more peaceful world around them.

Our 5th Anniversary Season included: MEN IN WHITE (1st major revival of Sidney Kingsley's Pulitzer Prize winning play in 30 years); THE LARAMIE PROJECT (commemorating the 15th anniversary of Matthew Shepard’s death); the World Premiere of THE STRANGER, (adapted by The Seeing Place ensemble from Camus’ searing novel) and a special “double feature” repertory event: TWO ROOMS (Lee Blessing) paired with the first NY revival of Pulitzer Prize finalist, DYING CITY (Christopher Shinn.)

Even though these 5 plays span 80 years and 3 generations of storytelling, the subjects brooched and lessons learned are achingly relevant today. We've chosen these plays to open up a dialogue with our audience about the world around us. How can we make an impact? How can we build on what we've learned from the people who've come before us?

Thank you for joining us for our landmark 5th Anniversary Season. Perhaps, as Gandhi said, we together can be the change we wish to see in the world.
